Interdisciplinary Research

Interdisciplinary Cluster for Cutting Edge Research

Shinshu University established the Interdisciplinary Cluster for Cutting Edge Research (ICCER) in FY2014 with the aim of fostering researchers, enhancing research excellence, and significantly strengthening the University's overall research capacity, while also establishing a sustainable research foundation.

In 2025, ten research centers were accredited under the third phase of ICCER. Within three innovation domains--Green Innovation, Life Innovation, and Future Society Innovation--ICCER promotes the creation of new academic core teams and provides support for early-career researchers.

Research Cluster for Social Implementation

The Research Cluster for Social Implementation connects Shinshu University's advanced and distinguished research with societal needs and value creation.
By integrating diverse academic expertise and promoting collaboration with industry, government, and local communities, the Cluster accelerates the social implementation of research outcomes and contributes to the realization of a sustainable society.
The Cluster is led by the following six core organizations.
