Three Researchers Newly Certified as Rising Stars

On April 1, a ceremony was held to certify Shinshu University's Rising Star faculty members.

Associate Professor Toshinori Taishi of ICCER’s Research Initiative for Supra-Materials, who specializes in crystal growth.

Associate Professor Takeshi Uemura of ICCER’s Institute for BioMedical Sciences who studies Neuroscience.

Associate Professor Akiyoshi Yamada of ICCER’s Institute for Mountain Science who specializes in the field of mushroom ecology and cultivation techniques. His dissertation and acquisition of external research funds was evaluated highly leading to this award.

The Rising Star System supports promising young researchers maximize their research potential by securing an environment to help propel their research to the next level. It fosters an interdisciplinary collaboration between talented researchers in the hope of creating new disciplines and encouraging the development of core technologies. This program began in 2015 and a total of 10 researchers have been certified as a Rising Star faculty member.
