On April 11th, 2014 about 20 members of the Government and those associated with universities and companies of State of Parana of the South Region of Brazil visited the Matsumoto Campus for talks regarding international links through industrial-academic-government collaboration and to visit the University Hospital. From the university side the visitors were received by Sadayuki Akahane, Trustee and Vice President, Yoshimasa Miura, Trustee and Vice President, Professor Kiyoshi Tanaka (Director, Shinshu University International Center), Kazuhiro Hongo (Director of University Hospital), Trustee and Vice President.

Professor Fabio Kurt Schneider (Dean of the Faculty) explained the inter-university technical exchange agreement concluded in March 2014 between Shinshu University and the Federal University of Technology - Parana. Vice President Akahane stated that “it is expected that this opportunity will further promote exchange with Brazil and State of Parana, and promote further inter-university agreements, the exchange of students, exchange among researchers, etc.” Yoshiaki Oshiro, President of the Parana Chamber of Commerce in Japan stated “The history of exchange between Japan and Brazil is deep. We definitely want to develop close relations between our universities, hospitals, and industry”, expressing the depth of feeling of both sides.
