This paper summarizes the research results on the chiral Lewis acid-catalyzed asymmetric cycloaddition reaction of cyclic azomethine ylides and electron-deficient alkenes. Using this method, it is possible to carry out the catalytic asymmetric synthesis of tropane skeleton-abundantly present in biologically active natural products such as cocaine.
