令和8年2月19日付で、副学長（特命戦略〈アカデミック・デザイン〉）を拝命いたしました。
本学の未来を構想し、その実現に責任を持つ立場をお預かりしたことに、強い使命感と決意を新たにしております。
いま、大学は大きな転換点に立っています。急速な少子化、研究力を巡る国際競争の激化、産業構造の変化、社会課題の高度化・複雑化――従来の延長線上にある改革では、もはや十分とは言えません。こうした時代にあって、信州大学が持続的に発展し、社会から選ばれ続ける存在であるためには、教育研究の枠組みそのものを再構想する「アカデミック・デザイン」が不可欠です。
現在、本学ではJ-PEAKS事業のもと、アクア・リジェネレーション機構を中核に、国際競争力を備えたグローバル大学院（アクアロジー専攻）の設置準備を進めています。5年一貫・全英語による教育プログラム、充実した経済的支援体制――これは単なる専攻新設ではなく、本学の教育研究モデルそのものを進化させる挑戦です。
アクアロジー専攻は、本学が掲げる「覚悟のグローバル化」を体現するファーストペンギンです。そしてアカデミック・デザインは、この挑戦を全学へと波及させ、信州大学を世界トップレベルの教育研究拠点へと押し上げるための原動力となります。国内外の大学・研究機関との戦略的連携、若手研究者の国際循環、ジョイント・ディグリープログラムの展開などを通じて、本学を世界の知のネットワークの中核へと位置付けてまいります。
しかし、真の改革は制度だけでは実現しません。
それを動かすのは、人です。学生ファーストの精神のもと、教職員一人ひとりの挑戦、学部・研究科を越えた協働、そして未来を信じる意志があってこそ、大学は変わります。信州大学の立地条件と歴史を礎に、対話と透明性を大切にしながら、責任ある意思決定と迅速な実行を両立させていきます。
信州大学が、地域から信頼され、世界から尊敬される大学へと飛躍するために、その未来設計を、皆様とともに進めていく所存です。

As of February 19, 2026, I have assumed the position of Vice President of Special Missions for Academic Design at Shinshu University. I take on this responsibility with a strong sense of mission and determination to shape the future of our University.
Under the J-PEAKS initiative, we are preparing to inaugurate a new fully English, five-year integrated graduate program equipped with financial support for students -The Department of Aqualogy-. This is a bold step toward redefining Shinshu University as a globally competitive hub of knowledge.
The Department of Aqualogy is the "first penguin" action that embodies our commitment to academic globalization. Academic Design will serve as the driving force to scale this challenge university-wide as a measure to elevate Shinshu University toward a world-class hub of education and research. Through strategic domestic and international partnerships with leading universities and research institutions, international mobility for students, administrative professionals and rising-star faculty, and the development of joint degree programs, we will strengthen our University as the core of the global hub of knowledge.
Transformation is driven not by systems alone, but by people. Founded upon a Student-First policy, and through collaboration across disciplines and borders, together, we shall proceed with purpose and determination.
Let us promote Shinshu University to a university trusted by the region and respected worldwide.
