１．公募の趣旨・背景
　信州大学理学部理学科地球学コースでは、「地層科学分野」と「地球物質科学分野」を柱として、地質学を中心とした地球学の基礎を重視した教育と研究を進めています。特に、気候変動、地震、火山噴火、地滑り、河川氾濫、津波などの地球環境の変動と多発する自然災害を踏まえ、野外における観察に基づいた科学的方法論の修得を目指した教育を実施しています。この度、当コースの教育・研究・学内運営を充実させるため、フィールドワークに基づいた地質学（特に固体地球科学）に関わる研究・教育に意欲的に取り組む方を募集します。

６．職務
　上記分野における研究のほか、大学院総合医理工学研究科山岳環境科学分野（博士課程）、大学院総合理工学研究科理学専攻理科学分野地球学ユニット（修士課程）及び学部（理学科地球学コース）関連の教育と研究指導を担当していただきます。なお、松本キャンパスにおいて共通教育科目を担当していただくこともあります。また、研究活動に支障のない範囲で大学運営業務にも従事していただきます。

７．応募資格
　博士の学位を取得している方、または着任時までに博士の学位を取得できる方で、地質学（特に固体地球科学）の研究業績を有するとともに、外部資金の獲得、社会活動、国際的活動に対しても意欲的に取り組んでいただける方。日本語による教育および大学運営業務ができる方｡外国人の場合は日本語によるコミュニケーションが十分に可能な方。将来的に信州の自然を活かした研究を展望できる方が望ましい。

　(テニュア・トラック制度について)
　　若手研究者が自立した研究者としての経験を一定期間積んだ上で厳格な審査を実施し、その間の業績や教員・研究者としての資質・能力が高いと認められた場合に、任期を付さない職を与える仕組みです。
　　採用者は採用後５年目前半にテニュア審査が行われ、合格者は６年目から任期の定めのない専任教員として採用されます。テニュア審査は研究、教育、大学運営上の活動実績に基づいて行われます。

　給与：本学の規定に基づく年俸制（国立大学法人信州大学年俸制適用職員給与細則第4条及び第5条適用）

　第一次選考（書類審査）を経て、第一次選考合格者に対して第二次選考（面接）を予定しています。

7. Qualifications:
(1) Applicants should hold a doctor's degree or should be expected to obtain the degree by March 31, 2024.
(2) Applicants must have excellent research achievements in the field described above.
(3) Applicants whose native language is not Japanese should have Japanese skills to carry out their teaching and research activities.
(4) Applicants who can envision research that harnesses the nature of Shinshu in the future, are encouraged.

10. Tenure-track institution
It is a system under which young researchers can apply for tenure after engaging in academic research and educational activities for a certain period. Candidates will be granted tenure if they are approved to have accrued high qualifications and academic abilities. A successful candidate hired through this recruitment program will be evaluated in the first half of the fifth year. After successfully passing the evaluation, he or she will be hired as a tenured faculty member from the sixth year onward. The evaluation will be based on the individual’s achievements in research, education, and administrative activities.
