Two Researchers Newly Certified as Rising Stars

On April 3rd, a ceremony was held to certify Shinshu University's Rising Star (RS) faculty members. Two researchers were newly certified as RS researchers: Associate Professor Hiroki Irieda of ICCER’s Institute for Biomedical Sciences and Associate Professor Yasuhiro Kohsaka of ICCER’s Research Initiative for Supra-Materials.

Associate Professor Irieda specializes in the field of plant pathology and Associate Professor Kohsaka in polymer chemistry, and both of their outstanding research achievements were evaluated and led to be certified. As RS faculty members, further leading research is expected.

The Shinshu University's Rising Star (RS) System is aim to cultivate up-and-coming RS researchers to become Super Star (SS) Researchers, and to strategically promote talent innovation to create new academic areas and cultivate core technologies by promoting cross‐breeding of ideas among keen RS researchers. Since the RS system began in 2015, a total of 12 researchers including two newly certificated researchers this time have been certified as a RS faculty member.
