Six fifth-year medical students returned to Japan safely after three months of basic research overseas training from September 2022. At the debriefing session, they fully talked to many students about the research at overseas partner universities, communication with oversea students, and the wonders of studying abroad.

With the support of the alumni association of the Shinshu University School of Medicine, the Sho-ikai Study Abroad Scholarship system was launched in December 2021 to widely support international exchange activities and study abroad at the School of Medicine. At the Board of Directors meeting of the "Sho-ikai", the alumni association of Shinshu University School of Medicine, six fifth-year students who had undergone overseas training reported their learning and experiences.

We hope that the six 5-year students who were able to experience research life overseas will play an active role with a broad perspective, with a view to studying abroad after the graduation.
