令和8年熊本地震について（学長メッセージ）
このたびの熊本県熊本地方を震源とする令和8年熊本地震により亡くなられた方々に深く哀悼の意を表しますとともに、被災された方々、そのご家族及び関係者の皆様に心よりお見舞い申し上げます。
また、被災者の救命・救助や被災地の復旧支援に尽力されている方々に、深く敬意を表します。
本学では現在、学生及び教職員の安否確認と被災状況の把握に努めております。被災により修学や学生生活に不安を抱えている本学の学生の皆さんは、決して一人で抱え込むことなく、所属学部等の学生支援窓口にご相談ください。
地震活動が続き、予断を許さない状況にありますが、本学として可能な限りの支援を行ってまいります。被災された皆様の安全と、被災地域の一日も早い復旧・復興を心よりお祈り申し上げます。

Message from the President on the 2026 Kumamoto Earthquake
On behalf of Shinshu University, I extend my deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of those who lost their lives in the 2026 Kumamoto Earthquake, which struck the Kumamoto region of Kumamoto Prefecture. I also offer my heartfelt sympathies to all those affected and their families.
I would also like to express my profound respect and gratitude to everyone engaged in rescue and relief operations and recovery efforts in the affected areas.
Shinshu University is currently working to confirm the safety and well-being of its students, faculty, and staff, and to assess the impact of the earthquake. Students whose studies or daily lives have been affected are encouraged not to face these difficulties alone and to contact the student support office in their faculty or school.
Seismic activity continues, and the situation remains uncertain. Shinshu University will provide as much support as possible. I sincerely hope that everyone affected remains safe and that the region recovers and rebuilds as quickly as possible.
