1. What made you come train at Shinshu University School of Medicine and how did you find the School through your stay?
I got information related to the clinic training from the international relations office of Diponegoro University. They opened a selection of Diponegoro University medical students to get one delegation sent to Shinshu University. This made me interested in participating in the selection, because this was the first opportunity after Covid-19. My interest increased after finding out that Shinshu University is one of the famous national universities in Japan and is located in Matsumoto which has beautiful natural scenery.

2. Please describe your training at host department/lab.
My training activities in the Nephrology and Gastroenterology departments went very well. All the doctors, residents and medical students of Shinshu University helped me to understand everything, from the patient's disease, examination procedures to disease treatment. There are many new things that I got at Shinshu University that I could not get in Indonesia. All the doctors let me see all the procedures and they explained very well.

3. Please list what you have gained from your experiences through the training at Shinshu University and the stay in Matsumoto, Japan.
I gained experience in terms of medical science including seeing procedures that I had never seen in Indonesia, being a vascular access surgery assistant, having active discussions about disease problems and their management. In addition, outside of medical science, I gained experience from the good culture of Japanese people, such as being on time, and respecting each other. And of course going to interesting places and eating Japanese food.

4. How do you think you can apply those experiences to your future career?
Of course, I will try to implement the good culture that I got in Japan when I am in Indonesia. In addition, I will try to develop the new knowledge I got in Japan when I am in Indonesia later. Such as conducting research or discussing with doctors in Indonesia for the advancement of medical procedures in Indonesia.

5. Advice to those who are interested in studying at Shinshu University
For medical students in all countries. If you train at Shinshu University, you will not only gain knowledge about medicine. But you will get a different cultural experience from other countries, all are very kind and try to help you. In addition, Shinshu University is located in Matsumoto, which has beautiful natural scenery and delicious Japanese food. So don't hesitate to choose Shinshu University for your training.
