A total of 126 visitors attended the kick off symposium for the Research Center for Fungal and Microbial Dynamism (CFMD), including among others representatives from universities and researchers from food manufacturers dealing with fungi, mushrooms and microbes, from both within and outside the prefecture. Mr. Takashi Shirotori, Mayor of Ina City, was in attendance, Dr. Tanapat Palaga of Chulalongkorn University, Thailand, gave a keynote lecture, and the event was given extensive media coverage, making it a successful day for all involved.
