Program Outline
This is a short-term program for students enrolled in our partner university that has an inter-university student exchange agreements. It aims to give an opportunity to study Japanese Language, Japanese affairs and Japanese culture mainly.
Application Eligibility:
Students who are enrolled in one of our partner universities that have student agreements. They can study at Shinshu University for 6 months or 1 year.
- Japanese Language Level:
From beginner to advanced. - Available Courses:
Japanese Course offered by GEC, Japanese Language and Culture subjects offered by GEC
General Studies subjects, Major subjects (Japanese syllabi only) - Certificate Requirements:
Students must take at least 10 credits a year (5 credits for one-semester students) to complete the program. - Maximum Enrollment:
20students/semester (40students/year) - Program term starts:
Early April / Late September - Program duration:
One semester or two semesters (one year) - Application Schedule:
For Spring Inbound Students
Application Guideline comes out: July in the previous year
Application Deadline: Middle of November of the previous year
For Fall Inbound Students
Application Guideline comes out: January
Application Deadline: Middle of May

Each partner university has to send the following documents to GEC by the above deadline date. (Note: We do not accept direct application from students.)

- Exchange Student Program Application Package
- Academic Transcript
- Copy of Passport
- Financial Supporter's Certificate of Bank Deposit
- Evidence of Language Proficiency(if available)
- Information sheet for applying a Certificate of Eligibility (COE)
- Facial photo
