2025年12月1日から12月4日に金沢市文化ホールにて開催されたAWPP2025にて、谷本悠紀さん(D1)がポスター賞を受賞しました。

受賞題目: Effect of Spinning Speed on the Higher-Order Structure Development in Poly (ethylene terephthalate) Fibers

研究概要: The higher-order structure determining the mechanical properties of fibers is strongly influenced by processing conditions, such as the spinning speed and draw ratio. In this study, Ultra-small-angle X-ray scattering (USAXS) images were obtained during the continuous drawing process of poly (ethylene terephthalate) (PET) fibers spun at 300 - 1500 m/min. The USAXS images obtained near the neck-drawing point were used to analyze the development of the 100 - 1000 nm scale structure under the equivalent drawing stress. The results showed that a layered structure with a 200 nm period was formed within 0.3 ms after necking for all spinning speeds. However, the structural development was delayed for the higher-speed-spun fibers. A delay in the structure formation of the higher-speed-spun fibers was also observed for the smectic phase, which is considered a precursor of microfibrils. This suggests that the delay in the development of higher-order structures with increasing spinning speed may have hindered the formation of microfibril structures. In addition, the increase in the smectic phase length up to 60 nm continued until 0.3 ms after necking. This indicates that the density fluctuations corresponding to the microfibril length were formed prior to smectic phase formation.
