Biology and Bioscience
Outline of Chair

The goal of our Ph.D. program is to provide research opportunities to learn how to explore unknown or unsolved questions behind diverse structure and function of organisms living in nature. To achieve
the goal,we investigate evolutionary facts and causalities with students who develop academic philosophy and skills of multidisciplinary approaches in evolutionary biology as the universal basis of biological
sciences. In parallel, our educational programs provide research opportunities for studies on conservation of biodiversity and environment and on breeding of safe and functional food resources by means of
advanced biotechnology.
Research Fields
This chair consists of the two fields of: Evolutionary Biology, which researches plants, fungi, fish and other topics; and Breeding of Food Resources, which researches genetics, breeding and related functions of mammals, birds, farmed and wild plants, mushrooms and other topics.
