1. Admissions Policy

Who Should Apply

The Graduate Program in Aqualogy welcomes applicants with strong academic backgrounds, intellectual curiosity, and a deep commitment to advancing research in water science and engineering. In alignment with the mission and educational objectives of the Graduate School of Science and Technology, we seek candidates who demonstrate the following qualifications:

Academic Preparation:

  • A broad foundation in science and engineering.
  • Solid fundamental knowledge in their field of study, with a strong emphasis on physical chemistry.
  • High proficiency in English necessary to complete graduate-level coursework and conduct research.

Research Interests:

  • Advanced water cycle systems and technologies.
  • Innovative energy technologies leveraging water resources.
  • Solutions to global water challenges, particularly those aligned with UN SDG 6: Clean Water and Sanitation.

Motivation & Vision:

  • Self-motivated researchers capable of conducting independent study in both fundamental and applied Aqualogy.
  • A strong aspiration to become internationally recognized researchers and future leaders in the field.

2. Admissions Evaluation

Applicants are evaluated through a holistic review process that measures both academic excellence and research potential. Selection is based on submitted application materials and an online oral examination.

The admissions committee considers:

  1. Academic preparation and overall scholarly performance.
  2. Foundational knowledge in the applicant's area of specialization.
  3. English language proficiency.
  4. Research interests, motivation, and potential for graduate study.

  • Enrollment Capacity: 15 students (AY 2027)
  • Admissions Categories: Special Recommendation-Based Selection & General Selection (for both April 2027 and October 2027 entry)

  • Application Guidelines: Please read the official Application Guidelines thoroughly for complete instructions before applying.
  • Single Category Rule: Applicants may not apply to multiple admission categories within the same application period.
  • Admission Qualification Screening: Prior eligibility screening is required ONLY for applicants falling under Categories (10) through (14) of the Application Qualifications.
    Applicants who satisfy Categories (1) through (9) (e.g., those who hold or are expected to receive a Bachelor's degree) do not require prior screening and may apply directly during the application period.
  • Online Application: All applications must be submitted through the Graduate School Online Application System.

7. Extended Study Program (For Working Professionals)

The Extended Study Program is designed for students who are currently employed or facing circumstances that make it difficult to complete the Master's degree within the standard two-year timeline.

Upon university approval, eligible candidates may extend their period of study to three or four years under a structured, flexible academic plan.
