The Department of Textile Science and Technology fosters not only advanced engineers who take an interest in the harmony of science and technology with environmental conservation and can address interdisciplinary-technology research and development and internationalization, but also advanced international engineers who can address the new culture generation and the advanced science technology age against the background of traditional science and technology based on “textiles,” which are very important in basic human life, consisting of food, clothing, and shelter.

This department, which is located in the Ueda Campus and is surrounded by a rich natural environment, fosters advanced engineers, professionals, and researchers who can expand advanced interdisciplinary technologies against the background of traditional science and technology based on “textiles,” which are very important in basic human life, consisting of food, clothing, and shelter, who can cultivate culture science and technology in the 21st century, who have excellent personalities and international outlooks, and have a wide perspective and a high capability for creating a better future.
As a result, this department contributes to the coexistence of mankind with the earth's environment, the development of human societies, and the improvement of peace and welfare. Based on this concept, this department, as a graduate school opened to national and international societies, deepens educational goals that are set in the faculty, and fosters advanced professionals and researchers by promoting education and academic research in various fields as research goals and by cultivating the following capabilities:

Curriculum Policy

The Department of Textile Science and Technology provides professional knowledge of textile chemistry, Kansei engineering, machine and robot science, materials chemistry, textile biology, etc., so that you can deeply understand textile science as an integrated science. You will acquire management and planning capabilities by taking the MOT advanced course, industry-university cooperation special lecture, etc. You will acquire information analysis capabilities, information processing capabilities, etc., by taking textile technology, etc. You will acquire practical capabilities by undertaking internship practices. You will also cultivate research techniques and acquire an independent mindset and flexible creativity by understanding advanced textile research and its boundary area research through master's thesis writing, exercises, special experiments, etc., by broadening your interdisciplinary mind.
