On October 20, 2017, the Symposium on Advanced Materials and 3D Printing for Biomedical Applications/7th Institute for Biomedical Sciences International Symposium were held jointly by the Center for Energy and Environmental Science.

Presenting on the theme of 3D printing for biomedical applications, advanced materials, and regenerative medicine was invited Professor Gordon G. Wallace, who is leading the 3D bioprinting project in Australia, and his research collaborators Dr. Xiao Liu and Dr. Johnson Chung from the University of Wollongong. From Shinshu University, Professor/Director Naoto Saito and Assistant Professors Tomohide Takaya and Shin Kadota of the Institute for Biomedical Sciences gave engaging talks as well. The presenters all introduced the audience to the latest frontiers in advanced materials and regenerative medicine.

The symposium participants became quickly interested in each research field and actively put forth questions to the speakers. The event provided a great opportunity to exchange opinions on different fields.
