Professor Shizue Masuki of Shinshu University Institute for Biomedical Sciences (Graduate School of Medicine, Sports Medicine Science Department) was awarded the Catalyst Award for the Health and Longevity Global Competition (HLGC) by the National Academy of Medicine (NAM) on October 15th, 2020. She was nominated by the Japan Agency for Medical Research and Development (AMED).

This award is given to foster international joint research by introducing research plans of Professor Masuki and others to the sponsor companies registered in NAM. The research theme for the "Development of a New Device for Estimating Cognitive Function, with Application to a Remotely Supervised exercise training system" will hopefully be a catalyst for spreading Interval Walking Training developed at Shinshu University around the world.
