【 About Inter-University Exchange Project 】
INTER-UNIVERSITY EXCHANGE PROJECT

The Inter-University Exchange Project initiative, aimed to nurture global human resources who aim to work on the international stage and strengthen the global development of university education while assuring the quality of higher education is a series of projects launched by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology in FY2011 for the purpose of providing financial support for efforts on the formation of collaborative programs with universities in designated countries and regions that conduct study abroad programs for Japanese students and accepting foreign students.

【 Program Outline 】
Summary of Our Project

Utilizing online educational materials to acquire “comprehensive knowledge” that transcends the boundaries of the humanities, social, natural sciences necessary to solve regional issues and challenges, COIL and acceptance of international students from partner universities in the U.S. will implement project-based international co-learning activities in which Japanese and the U.S. students identify the issues and solutions in the regions that contribute to DX / GX. Shinshu University students will experience the COIL and PBL activities described above by adopting English proficiency (TOEFL iBT) improvement learning methods that make full use of AI and so on, leading to actual study abroad with the purpose of earning credits at the U.S. universities.

【 Program Mission 】
Feature on the Project

The project aims the combination of project-based co-learning and STEAM education system for the theme of community challenges existing around Shinshu university and the U.S. partner universities. Japanese and the U.S. students study together online and through visiting partner universities and communities. Shinshu University students will be able to grow as globally competent human resources for engaging community challenges through the experience of COIL, studying abroad, and cross-disciplinary PBL training, as well as through the improvement of their English language skills.

Human resources for engaging community challenges equipped with the international ability to co-create with various people while accepting diversity, with the ability to explore, think creatively, and take practical action to solve problems, making full use of the “comprehensive knowledge” of students from Japan and the U.S., which transcends the boundaries of the humanities and sciences.
