2-days International Exchange Trip organized by Global Education Center, Shinshu University

Global Education Center (GEC), Shinshu University Japan organized a 2-days International Exchange Trip on the 2nd and 3rd July, 2016. The main objectives of this annual trip is to provide a gateway for foreign students and Japanese students from different campuses within Shinshu University to achieve intercultural understanding, to deepen the international exchange, and to build global network among them.

This year, there was 76 foreign students from various countries, 17 Japanese students, and 6 faculty members, a total of 99 participants that joined the trip to the world heritage Shirakwa-go, Hida Takayama, and Kamikochi.

The trip began with a walk through the historic village of Shirakwa-go. Then, once checked into the hotel in the Hidatakayama, the students were divided into groups to discuss and brainstorm a slogan for Shinshu University. Later that night, the participants enjoyed a delicious traditional Japanese dinner, onsen bath, as well as an after-party that involved dancing and voting for the best slogan among the groups. The students were able to communicate more during the after-party.

On the next day, the trip took place in the old streets of Hidatakayama and later a walk under the drizzle of rain in Kamikochi. It was a wonderful chance for the students to get to know each other's culture background while taking the beautiful scenery of Japan.

Also, the slogan with the highest vote will be use in the GEC website starting July 2016. This slogan will also be use in various printouts from GEC as well.
