Department of Mathematics and System Development

With purpose for developing devices and systems in harmony among the human beings,the society and the nature,the four chairs are established to make research and education concerning the development of advanced mechanical systems for production fields,the development of fundamental electrical and electronic systems for the wide-ranged applications from energy to computers,the development of advanced devices utilizing nano materials,and mathematical information science serving as their base.

Department of Mathematics and System Development - Course Outline

Mechanical Systems Engineering
To make research and education concerning development and optimum design of mechanical system aided with electronic communication system.

Electrical and Electronic Engineering
Research,development and education in the area of electrical and electronic systems and their applications.

Advanced Nanocarbon Technology
To make research and education concerning nano materials and high-performance functionally intelligent devices.

Mathematical Information Systems
To make research and education concerning theories and applications of information science and mathematical science.

Department of Mathematics and System Development - Principles

This course aims to develop advanced materials and science and technology systems in harmony with nature, society and individuals, to foster researchers and advanced professional engineers who will contribute to that research and development, and to contribute to the betterment of human society.

Department of Mathematics and System Development - Educational Policy

This course aims to enable the development of abilities and practical process development skills that enable broad identification of problems, while avoiding fragmentation and narrowing of research. For this reason, the course includes student participation in study groups, including people from other courses, chairs and enterprise researchers related to the research topics, in order to expand research beyond the student’s own area of specialization, and it fosters expansion of research into new fields, the ability to develop new fields, and the ability to take on the new challenges offered by those new fields.

Precision Engineering Course for Working Student

National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) and municipalities in Suwa area, Nagano Prefecture have established "Precision Engineering Course for Working Student" and have been fostering technical experts on high-level manufacturing who have management capabilities in the fields of micromachining and nano technology. This course is limited to working persons.
