Shinshu University participated in the "Study in Japan Fair" in Brazil, which was hosted by the University of Tsukuba held from July 8 to 14, 2023. This fair aims to provide Brazilian students with information on studying in Japan and to arouse their interest in Japan. While the fair was held online during the COVID-19 pandemic, this year it resumed in-person event due to the easing of entry restrictions in various countries, including Japan. Nine universities from Japan, including Shinshu University, participated in this event.

Starting with a booth-participation in the section of the "Study in Japan" projected by MEXT at the Japan Festival "Festival do Japão" in Sao Paulo, and participated in a study abroad fair at the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR), where the counseling about study abroad and workshops were provided, and followed the participation at the Anime Festival, which was planned as a new trial.

In addition to the participation in fairs, Senior Assistant Professor Yu Sengoku from Center for Global Education and Collaboration of Shinshu University (SU) had opportunity to meet with Professor Paulo Cezar Stadzisz, Director of the International Affairs at the Federal University of Technology-Paraná (UTFPR), where the only SU satellite office in South America is located, and paid a courtesy visit to Professor Graciela Ines Bolzon de Muniz, Vice-Rector of UFPR, which is also one of the SU partner universities in Brazil. To exchange opinions with local officials in Curitiba, he visited the Consulate-General of Japan and the Japan-Brazil Chamber of Commerce and Industry as well. On the last day in Curitiba, an Alumni reunion was held and met up with a total of about 20 SU-Alumni, providing an opportunity to deepen the friendship among the participants.
