Center for Global Education and Collaboration Final Presentation Ceremony (Year of 2024 Spring)

On Tuesday, August 6, 2024, the " Center for Global Education and Collaboration Final Presentation Presentations" was held at the General Education Lecture Hall on the Matsumoto Campus.
43 international students from 17 countries, including the United States, Italy, Indonesia, Uzbekistan, Egypt, the Netherlands, Korea, Kyrgyzstan, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Taiwan, China, Germany, Turkmenistan, France, Vietnam, Belgium, Malaysia, and Russia, made presentations at this time.

In the presentations, short-term international students (exchange students and Nikken students) who had spent six months or a year at Shinshu University gave speeches on the theme of "what they felt and grew during their study abroad experience at Shinshu University.
Examples of the content of their presentations included their feelings when they decided to study abroad, their anxiety before coming to Japan, how they overcame the cultural differences in Japan while being confused, a sense of solidarity with Shinshu University students gained from seriously engaging in band circle activity, what they felt through contact with Japanese children at the affiliated schools, what they gained through interaction with Japanese and other international students, and the good environment of Matsumoto City, including the interaction with local people.

The international students expressed that they had not only improved their Japanese language skills, but had also grown as human beings, indicating that they had had a fulfilling study abroad experience in Japan. Not a few of them expressed their desire to return to Japan and Nagano Prefecture, and we expect that they will continue to be involved with Japan after completing their studies at Shinshu University, making the most of what they have learned.

The Shinshu University student tutors played a significant role in helping the international students begin their lives in Japan. Tutor students also participated in the presentation, making it a very valuable opportunity for not only international students but also domestic students to learn from each other and study together.

Many international students will return to their home countries after this presentation, and this final presentation is an important event for them to present the results of their study abroad. The next presentation is scheduled for February, six months from now.
