組織についてAbout the Organization

信州大学教育・学生支援機構のもとに、データサイエンス・デジタル人材の教育の推進を目的に、松本キャンパスにデータサイエンス教育推進本部を設置、また、長野（工学）キャンパスに工学部分室を設置しました。共通教育を担当する全学教育センター及び工学部数理データサイエンス・AI教育研究センターと連携してデータサイエンス教育を展開します。

Under the Shinshu University Education and Student Support Organization, the Data Science Education Promotion Institute was established at the Matsumoto Campus and the Faculty of Engineering Branch Office was established at the Nagano (Faculty of Engineering) Campus for the purpose of promoting education in data science and digital human resources. Data science education will be developed in cooperation with the Center for University-wide Education, which is in charge of general education, and the Center for Education and Research in Mathematical Data Science and AI in the Faculty of Engineering.

本部長挨拶Greetings from the Head of the Institute

　信州大学は，長野県内の5つのキャンパスに8学部を有する総合大学です。データサイエンス教育推進本部（松本），分室（長野（工学））及び各学部ブランチをおき，地域分散型キャンパスを活かして長野県内の自治体や企業等と連携したデータサイエンス教育を推進していきます。

　学部新入生は，1年間，松本キャンパスにおいて共通教育を受けます。令和3年度から自治体，長野県世論調査協会及びテレビ信州の担当者がオムニバス形式で実施している「データから見る長野県ゼミ」を皮切りに，令和4年度より白馬村及びNTTドコモと連携した「データから白馬村の観光を考えるゼミ」などを共通教育において開講しています。令和5年度より全1年生を対象にデータサイエンス（リテラシーレベル）に対応している「データサイエンスリテラシー」を必修科目として開講しています。

　また，工学部においては令和5年度からデータサイエンス（応用基礎レベル）に対応しているコア科目の運用を開始しました。

　これらのデータサイエンス教育の取組により，文部科学省「数理・データサイエンス・AI教育プログラム認定制度」において，令和5年度に「認定教育プログラム（リテラシーレベル）」に認定されました。令和6年度に「認定教育プログラム（リテラシーレベル）プラス」に選定，同時に「認定教育プログラム（応用基礎レベル）」に工学部が認定されました。

　今後，データサイエンス（応用基礎レベル）を全学的に展開し，地域DXの課題を解決できるデジタル人材を育成していきます。

Shinshu University is a comprehensive university with eight faculties across five campuses in Nagano Prefecture. With the main Data Science Education Promotion Institute located in Matsumoto, a branch office in Nagano (Faculty of Engineering), and additional branch offices in each faculty, the university promotes data science education by leveraging its regionally distributed campuses and working in collaboration with local municipalities and businesses throughout Nagano.

All first-year undergraduate students receive general education for one year at the Matsumoto Campus. Starting in the 2021 academic year, a seminar titled “Exploring Nagano Prefecture Through Data” has been offered in an omnibus format, featuring representatives from local municipalities, the Nagano Public Opinion Research Association, and TV Shinshu. In the 2022 academic year, another seminar, “Considering Tourism in Hakuba Through Data,” was launched in collaboration with Hakuba Village and NTT Docomo. Since the 2023 academic year, a new required course titled “Data Science Literacy” has been introduced for all first-year students to provide foundational knowledge in data science.

Furthermore, the Faculty of Engineering introduced a core course in Data Science (Applied Foundational Level) starting in the 2023 academic year.

Thanks to the efforts in data science education, the university was certified in the 2023 academic year under the Ministry of Education’s “Mathematics, Data Science, and AI Smart Higher Education Programs Certification System” as a “Certified Education Program (Literacy Level).” In the 2024 academic year, it was further selected as a “Certified Education Program (Literacy Level) Plus,” and at the same time, the Faculty of Engineering was certified as a “Certified Education Program (Applied Foundational Level).”

Going forward, we will expand data science education (Applied Foundational Level) across the entire university to develop digital talent capable of solving regional DX challenges.
