Graduate School of Science and Technology(Master's Program)>Department of Biomedical Engineering>Biotechnology Division

Biotechnology Division

Overview

The research of the Biotechnology Division focuses on understanding the biological activities on the level of molecule, cell, biont, and group, and then applying the acquired knowledge.
In particular, we extensively research various functions of the living organism (microorganisms, plants, and animals) from the viewpoints of molecular biology, biochemistry, structural biology, genetic engineering, biological engineering, and reproduction technology. We are conducting advanced research that runs alongside or sometimes in advance of biotechnology’s remarkable development and innovations.
We apply the knowledge obtained from the research to food production, advanced medical care, drug discovery, environmental conservation, energy production, etc., aiming to enrich people’s lives.
