Purpose and Background of the Recruitment

The Faculty of Agriculture has established the International Center for Agricultural Education and Research to develop and promote global education. It develops short-term dispatch programs and promotes COIL programs. To support these initiatives, we are seeking applications for one faculty member who can develop course content for cultivating globally-oriented, highly skilled professionals in agricultural sciences, deliver instruction in English, and actively engage in international exchange and the acceptance of international students.

I. Job Description
1. Number of Positions: One Assistant Professor (three-year fixed term)
2. Work place: Faculty of Agriculture, Shinshu University, 8304 Minamiminowa-Village, Kamiina-County, Nagano

3. Employment Type: Regular Employee. Discretionary Labor System (3 years)
4. Contract Period: 3 years from the starting date (expected to April 1, 2026 to March 31,2029)
5. Benefits:
Based on Shinshu University's rules and regulations.
Annual Salary: 5,808,000yen(Monthly Salary:484,000yen (Including welfare benefits))
Welfare: Employment insurance, Worker's accident compensation insurance, and social insurance
6. Research field: Field related to Agricultural Science
7. Qualifications: Applicants should have
(1) Doctoral degree or expecting to receive a doctoral degree by starting date of the job.
(2) Much knowledge in the field of Agricultural Sciences to contribute to education and the human resource development of the field.
(3) The ability to conduct undergraduate and graduate education sufficiently in English.
(4) Strong willingness to successful grant applications and to carry out social and international academic activities.
(5) The ability to conduct classes in Japanese is preferred.

8. Job Responsibility:
(1) Educational and research activities related to the International Center for Agricultural Education and Research (ICAER)
(2) Research Promotion in the Field of Agricultural Sciences
(3) Guidance on Educational, Research, and Living Support for International students (Master's and Doctoral)
(4) Planning and Participation in International Conferences and Academic Exchange
(5) Conducting Lectures and Seminars in the field of Agricultural Science in English
(6) Planning and Implementation of Recruitment activities for International Students
