2023 Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) program with Texas A&M University Texarkana

We are pleased to announce the successful implementation of the second COIL program between Texas A&M University-Texarkana and our Faculty of Agriculture. The program, which took place in April 2023, built upon the success of the previous year's initiative.

A total of 32 students participated in the program, with seven students representing our Faculty of Agriculture, including international students, and 25 students from Texas A&M University Texarkana. Together, they embarked on a journey of collaborative learning and cultural exchange.

Under the theme "COVID-19 Pandemic: Global Perspective - Impacts on the Lives of Higher Education Students in the United States and Japan," the participants were divided into six groups. Through the utilization of a learning platform commonly used by students in Texarkana, these groups engaged in online group work for approximately one month. The program culminated in a series of presentations delivered on the final day.

Feedback from the participating students has been positive. They expressed their appreciation for the opportunity to communicate in English with their American counterparts, deepened their understanding of the far-reaching effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, and expressed a strong desire to further engage with students from the US.

This successful collaboration exemplifies our commitment to fostering global perspectives and providing transformative educational experiences for our students. We extend our gratitude to Texas A&M University-Texarkana for their partnership and look forward to future collaborations that enrich the educational journeys of our students.
