Dear Colleague;

We are happy to announce that the 4th International Conference on Advanced Fiber/Textile Materials (ICAFTM2007) will be held from 13th to 14th December, 2007. in Ueda, Japan. We are planning to invite distinguished researchers in the fields of Fiber and Polymer Materials, Textile Processing and Properties, and Fashion and Kansei (Sensory) Engineering. Poster sessions are also scheduled for those research fields.

We would like to welcome you to this important International Conference on Advanced Fiber/Textile Materials in silk-town Ueda.

GENERAL INFORMATION

Call for Poster Presentation

Authors wishing to present posters in the International Conference on Advanced Fiber/Textile Materials should submit the abstracts to the General Secretariat by 20th November 2007.

The TITLE, CORRESPONDING AUTHORS, AFFILIATIONS, ADDRESS, 200 word ABSTRACT, TEL, FAX and E-mail address should be informed to general secretariat by E-mail. Upon provisional acceptance of the abstracts authors will be advised to follow the guidelines for camera-ready manuscript preparation. Proceedings will be made available during the conference. The official language is English.

Conference Site

The conference will be held in Shinshu University, Ueda. Ueda City is located at 200 km northwest of Tokyo and 40 km east of Nagano, where the 1998 Winter Olympic Games was held. Ueda City offers a comfortable urban life for its 160,000 inhabitants with its old castle and the longest river, Chikuma-river, in Japan. Ueda had been a silk town famous for sericulture and filature in 70 to 100 years ago, but now the hi-tech industry such as electronics has taken over the silk/textile industry. Shinshu University, Faculty of Textile Science and Technology, was established in Ueda in 97 years ago in order to meet the demand of sericulture and filature industry, and has been active in research and education. Now we have over 100 academic staffs, working hard for research and education in the field of polymer, fiber and textile science and technology.

Passport and Visa Requirements

All visitors to Japan are required to hold valid travel documents. You are advised to check whether you need to apply for an entry visa with your local Japanese Consulate.

On request, the Secretariat will send a formal invitation letter for participation in the Conference to registrants.

Registration Fee

The registration fee, including refreshments, the banquet and the conference proceedings, is J￥ 10,000 for ordinary participants and J￥ 5,000 for students. Registration will be done from the homepage of global COE (http://www.globalcoe.com/).
