Manufacturing and Value Creation Seminar I

Activity report

From September 17 to 20, 2014, the students participated in a study camp "Manufacturing and Value Creation Seminar I" in Karuizawa, a popular tourist town in our region.
We had 3 guest lecturers on the Day 1, Mr. Yoshiaki Yashiro (President of Tokai Senko K. K.), Mr. Tadashi Abe (Chairman of Hokkai M. I. C.), and Professor Saburo Takizawa (Toyo Eiwa University). Mr. Yashiro and Mr. Abe talked to the students about qualities that make a great leader. Prof. Takizawa lectured on the educational situation in Myanmar.

The students did group work on and after Day 2, for giving their presentation in 2 languages, in Japanese and in English. Mr. Abe watched their Japanese presentations and we had Prof. Chwee Teck Lim, a visiting professor from National University of Singapore, for their English presentations. Mr. Abe and Prof. Lim took time to give their valuable feedback to each team to help make their presentation better.

The students have learned and discovered a lot from the valuable lectures by the guests who have plenty of life experience. Some of them said the seminar has answered a question they have been wondering about: the most important quality of a leader. They also used this opportunity to get to know each other even more.
