Yu Imai, Associate Professor (Special Appointment) at the Institute for Aqua Regeneration (ARG), Shinshu University, has received the 4th Young Investigator Award in Bioengineering from the Society for Biotechnoligy, Japan.
The Young Investigator Award in Bioengineering was established to recognize young researchers who have achieved outstanding research results in the field of bioengineering and contributed to its development. This year, three researchers, including Associate Professor Imai, were honored with the award.
The research theme for which Associate Professor Imai was recognized is "Antibiotic Drug Discovery using Nematode Symbiotic Bacteria." This unique approach, which involves exploring new antibiotics from bacteria symbiotic with nematodes (roundworms), was highly praised.
