Throughout my stay, I was impressed by the high level of professionalism, the collaborative spirit, and the dedication to education. My time at Shinshu University exceeded my expectations and has been one of the most enriching experiences of my medical training.
2. Please describe your training at the host department/lab.
During my training period at Shinshu University School of Medicine, I was involved in both clinical and research activities. I took part in clinical rotationsin the Hematology and Pediatrics departments, where I was actively involved in hospital life. I joined medical rounds and had hands-on experiences under supervision. I also observed several procedures, including a cesarean section, and had the opportunity to interact closely with newborns and pediatric patients. These experiences allowed me to deepen my understanding of patient care and daily clinical practice.
In addition, I worked in the Laboratory of Regenerative Medicine, where I conducted research for my thesis. I learned essential laboratory techniquessuch as cell culture, immunostaining (IHC, ICC, IHF), and fluorescence microscopy. It was my first time in a research setting, and this opportunity has greatly contributed to my interest in pursuing a future career in science and regenerative medicine.
