Research Field
The discovery of carbon nanotubes has stimulated extensive research activities in science and engineering devoted to carbon nanostructures. Recently, the carbon nanotubes have been shown to possess remarkable mechanical, electrical and thermal properties leading to many potential applications. However, the mechanical properties of carbon nanotubes depend largely on their helicity and structures. Moreover, very limited studies have been done regard to the mechanical properties of the nanocomposites filled with CNTs, and an approach toward practical measurement will be a challenging work.
