Identifies three states of unstable Graphene Oxide

2024.03.22

GO colloids ripened at different °Cs and durations.

A research group led by Specially Contract Professor Katsumi Kaneko identifies three states of unstable Graphene Oxide (GO) using visible absorption spectra.
They showed that the target GO of three states which have different electrical and magnetic properties and surface composition can be easily identified with the aid of the optical absorption peak position.

As the precursor of reduced GO, GO is widely applied to various fields, electronic, energy and biomedical technologies and its market has been growing rapidly. The identification of the GO state would support effective application of GO suitable to each technology.

The study was in collaboration with Nagasaki University, Sanwayuka Industry, Toyota, University of Banja Luka (BiH) and City University of New York.
