"Envisioning of liquid consumption of digitalised arts: Innovation, creativeness, and transformation of nature and art assets" Two members of the Institute participated in the seminar funded by the JSPS. Here is a summary of the event.

JSPS London Office funded project "Envisioning of liquid consumption of digitalised arts: Innovation, creativeness, and transformation of nature and art assets art assets" was held in a hybrid format on 6 December 2021, with key note speaker Professor Katsuya Tamai of the Research Center for Social Systems presenting on the digital archiving of Karuizawa's natural and cultural assets and copyright issues. The seminar was organised by Dr Hiroko Oe, a visiting professor at the Institute, and featured speakers and practitioners from universities around the world, including Professor Tamai, the University of Fukui, Politecnico di Milano, Bournemouth University and Trent University. We will continue to hold a wide range of webinars and seminars on the contribution of social science in the digital age and the proposal of a typical model for industry, government and academia to contribute to the creation of a sustainable society.


Mr Naoto Kobayashi (Director of JSPS London) attended the seminar and expressed his hopes for further research exchange between the UK and Japan, as well as his supportive expectations of the participants' research. In addition, Ms Suzuko Ohki (former Director of the General Affairs Department of the JSPS Japan Branch and former Director of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology) gave her views on future research cooperation and support for researchers.
