Study at the overseas partner universities

Course Description

Students shall participate in a mini-internship (including English training) at OSU Global and the English Language Intercultural Center (ELIC) at Oklahoma State University, an overseas academic exchange partner university. In this internship, they shall learn practical English and participate in Service Learning on campus and in the surrounding area. They shall engage in collaborative work with OSU students and local residents to improve their English, communication, and intercultural understanding. They shall experience the society, culture, and environment of Oklahoma. This is an opportunity to compare the education and local communities of Japan and America and examine the respective problems and their solutions.
Before the exchange, students shall use resources such as TOEFL iBT courses to improve their English skills. After the program, students shall review their training, creating opportunities for international exchanges with overseas partner universities and within Shinshu University, aiming to improve their English communication skills.
*This course is implemented as part of the University's global expansion project.

Course Plan

(1) May-July: Guidance
(2) Mid-August: Pre-program Learning and Last-minute Guidance
③ Mid-August to Late September (about 1 month): Mini-internship with English Training at the English Learning Intercultural Center (ELIC), OSU Global, Oklahoma State University, U.S.
(4) Late September-Early October: Post-program Learning and Debriefing

*Detailed schedules shall be provided in the application guidelines issued in April.
*This program involves work in the region/campus, which requires a certain degree of language proficiency. Therefore, students must submit their language score. (A score equivalent to TOEIC 550 or above was required for the same course conducted in February 2024, but this may change; thus, please check the application guidelines in April).
