Sociology Text Reading in Japanese

Course Description

In this seminar, students read sociological literature in Japanese and engage in discussions and group work.

After an overview of sociology as a discipline, the course examines how various aspects of society have been analyzed within sociology. It also introduces recent research literature in Japanese sociology.

By exploring recent research topics, students will gain an understanding of the characteristics and issues of contemporary Japanese society.

Through this seminar, students will:

* Improve their ability to read academic texts in Japanese
* Acquire basic sociological concepts
* Practice academic discussions in Japanese

Additionally, through discussions with students from diverse backgrounds, participants will explore similarities and differences between Japanese society and other societies.
