Course Description
In this seminar, students will work in groups to study social issues, deepen their understanding through discussion, and compile their findings into a final report, with guidance from the instructor.
Social issues are defined as problematic phenomena that cannot be solved by individual efforts alone and are considered to have societal causes. For instance, in our society, values such as freedom and equality are expected to be upheld; however, there are societal constraints (limitations on freedom) and disparities (lack of equality) that challenge these values.
During this seminar, students will investigate the current state of these social issues in Japanese society, explore their causes, and contemplate their social impact and possible responses. These findings will then be discussed in the seminar.
The seminar will be conducted and discussed in Japanese.
