The activities of nurturing human resources of the ecologically-minded which started from the Faculty of Engineering have spread to all five Shinshu University campuses. Each campus has been certified according to ISO14001, and establishes and develops a distinct ecological campus to promote nurturing human resources of the ecologically-minded. (The School of Medicine campus and the University Hospital in Matsumoto will be certified according to ISO 14001 in 2009.)
19984The Faculty of Engineering set up the department of Environmental Science and Technology.
The environment-conscious engineer education program started.
20014The education program started operation over all departments of the Faculty of Engineering.
20015Faculty of Engineering was certified according to ISO 14001 (the first time for a national university and graduate school).
