Host a Visit by Students from Knowledge Investment Programs

Activity report

The Leading Program hosted a visit by students from the Knowledge Investment Program (KIP) at the Ueda campus of Shinshu University, on May 23rd, 2015. There were more than thirty KIP members, all college students in Japan, together with students from the NanoJapan program. They came to Ueda as part of their regional study tour. Six of our 2nd year students and one 3rd year student took part in the event which involved a group discussion and debate on whether mobile phones should be banned during college classes.

This topic was discussed in small groups, and one member from each group summarized their discussion in front of the other groups. All participants then debated the issue. While it was their first time to participate this kind of debate and the experience was overwhelming for them, the program students tried their best to voice their opinions and it was another eye-opener for them.
