Theme 03  消化管環境の改善を通じた家畜生産性向上



動物消化管群集と宿主動物の栄養・健康との関係を生かした動物生産への応用も進められています。具体的には、ウシの第一胃（ルーメン）内微生物群集の調節によるメタン生成抑制を通じた飼料効率の改善や、幼獣へのプロバイオティクス及びプレバイオティクスの投与による増体促進、健康状態改善などがあります。
当研究室では、特定の素材を摂取することによる、家畜の消化管微生物構成の変動と生産性向上との関連を研究しています。

【主な研究テーマ】

・潜在性ルーメンアシドーシス予防に向けた飼養管理がルーメンの菌叢構造に及ぼす影響の解明 (左図)
・和牛放牧子牛へのプレバイオティック素材（セロオリゴ糖、クラフトパルプ）給与による発育促進
・無機資源(炭、緑色凝灰岩)の養鶏飼料利用技術開発
