Dr. Byoung Suhk KIM (Global COE Postdoctoral Fellow) was
3rd place in the world at SciFinder database, 2011 in the number of nanofiber publications.
As the results of the number of publications about nanofiber in 2011,
Dr. Byoung Suhk KIM, Global COE Postdoctoral Fellow (International Center of
Excellence on Fiber Engineering) was 3rd place in the world at SciFinder database.
Also, Prof. Ick Soo KIM (Mechanical Eng. and Robotics, Functional Machinery and Mechanics) was 1st in the world at same category.
Dr. B.S Kim and Prof. I.S. Kim are internationally successful researchers in field of nanofiber. They achieved the world’s first development of the mass production of nanofiber in 2010. Since then, they have been attracted attention in this field even more so. They continue to work on further development of nanofiber application Development and production systems.
Next to Donhua University (P.R. China), Shinshu University was placed 2nd academic institution in the world at nanofiber category in 2011 at SciFinder.

Global COE International Evaluation meeting was held on Dec. 10, 2011 at FTST, Shinshu University.
Evaluation meeting was held inviting Prof. Blanton Godfrey from North Carolina State University,
Prof. Chris Carr from The University of Manchester and Prof. Tao Xiao ming from The Hong Kong
Polytechnic University.

The 3rd International Conference on Multi-Functional Materials and Structures (MFMS, 2010) awarded
Mr. Bao with the Best Paper Award, which was held in Jeonbuk Provincial Government Jeonju, Korea.
The International Conference on Multi-Functional Materials and Structures (September14-18, 2010) held
annually and mainly focused on multi-functional materials and structures for different engineering applications ranging from smart materials, composite, nanostructure and nano-technology to bio engineering materials.
MFMS aim to present the latest developments, future prospects related to the area of multifunctional materials and structures, further applications on science and engineering.
Mr. Bao with the Best Paper Award, which was held in Jeonbuk Provincial Government Jeonju, Korea.
