Sociology Text Reading in English

Course Description

In this seminar, students read an introductory sociology textbook in English and engage in discussions and group work. The course is intended for students majoring in sociology or those interested in sociology who wish to read sociological literature in English. For each session, two students prepare a handout (summary) and lead the discussion. At the end of the semester, each student selects a topic covered in class that they wish to explore further and gives a final presentation. The course will be conducted primarily in English, though Japanese may be used when necessary.
