Seminar on SHINSHU with the high life expectancy & Society

Code:G2B65212 / Instructor:AIDA Nobuko

Course Description

In Japan, one of the world's major superaged societies, Nagano (Shinshū) plays a leading role as a prefecture where residents have a long life expectancy. In this seminar, we will use the Nagano Senior Citizens Plan (latest edition), which is presented every three years as a unified promulgation of the Nagano Elderly Welfare Plan (Act on Social Welfare for the Elderly), and the Insured Long-Term Care Service Support Plan (Long-Term Care Insurance Act) as teaching materials. Students will consider the strengths and challenges of Nagano (Shinshū) and prepare and present proposals to the prefectural government.

This seminar aims to deepen students' interest in and understanding of Nagano Prefecture's policies for older adults and help them acquire the basic skills needed to prepare proposals and engage in collaborative work (two to five students in each group). In terms of topics, it is expected that students interested in the class keywords listed below will participate.
