Associate Professor Eugenio H. Otal has been elected a member of the Marie Curie Alumni Association (MCAA) Board for the 2026-2028 term.

As the founding Chair of the MCAA Japan Chapter, Dr. Otal has expanded the Association's network in Japan and the Asia-Pacific region. His initiatives include the development of MCAA Asia Connect, bringing together researchers and alumni across Japan, China, India and Europe, as well as establishing new links with universities, institutions and diplomatic partners.

His contribution to the MCAA community has been recognized with the MCAA Outstanding Contributor Award 2024 and the Best Non-European Chapter Award 2025.

Dr. Otal's election will raise the visibility of Shinshu University and support international research collaboration across Japan, Asia, and Europe.
