The 35th International Seminar: Debriefing Session of Oversea Clinical Clerkship Program in Spring 2025

Four fifth-year students participated in the Clinical Clerkship Program at our partner universities abroad for two months from the end of March 2025: one at the University of California, Davis in the U.S., one at the University of Trieste in Italy, and two at Mahidol University in Thailand; three out of the four students underwent clinical training, while one engaged in basic research. All of them returned safely after learning and growing a lot, although they might have faced with some difficulties abroad that they would not have encountered if they had stayed in Japan.

On the 14h of July 2025, a debriefing session for students and faculty was held, and the participants including 27 students listened intently the four students' study abroad experiences. At the end of the seminar, the participant students had opportunities to talk with the four students and got firsthand information about living and studying abroad, which led to their improved motivation.

We hope the four students who gained great experiences in this program to consider going abroad again as a doctor or a researcher in the future to have further experiences and make contributions to the field of medicine with a broad perspective.
