Effects of moderate intensive exercise on the middle-aged rats were studied. The Wistar-strain male rats were bread carefully at the room temperature of 23±1° and the dietary condition was ad libitum. They were run on the motor driven treadmill for 6 months at a speed of 12-17 m/min for less than 15 min once daily and 1 time in a week. Running ability and the replenishment of glycogen in exhausted skeletal muscles on 18 months rats. Endurance time of the trained rats loaded at a speed of 12 m/min were significant long and the glycogen consumption of several muscles slowly reduced than the sedentary control. However, the replenishment of glycogen contents in the tibialis ant. and the red gastrocnemius were promoted significantly at 1 hour after exhaustive exercise.
