PDF Efficacy of the Taping and Knee Brace to the Sports Injuries

 In vivo anterior-posterior knee laxity testing apparatus was developed using the LVDT and RVDT. 10 kg anterior drawer force showed 3.2 mm anterior tibial displacement combined with 5 degree internal tibial rotation in the normal knee. In the anterior cruciate ligament deficient knee the same force showed 9.5 mm anterior tibial displacement with minimal tibial rotation. After taping or after the Lenox Hill Brace fixation anterior displacement decreased considerably in the ACL deficient knee. Further study will be needed to clarify the efficacy of the taping or the knee brace.
