Summary of Activity

Department of Ophthalmology consists of about 20 ophthalmologists and researchers. The main topic of the research is to elucidate the pathogenesis of ocular diseases such as diabetic retinopathy and age related macular degeneration. Using oxygen induced neovascularization model and various transgenic or knock out mice, we investigate the mechanisms of retinal edema, retinal and chorodial neovascularization. We also perform in vitro studies such as real time PCR, western blotting and proteomics.
