International Co-Learning Project: Zoom Plays about Climate Change & Food

Every semester, our Center for Global Education and Collaboration (GEC) organizes the International Co-Learning Project (ICP), which gives students of different nationalities and cultural backgrounds the change to work together as a group on a particular topic and learn from each other.

This semester it was the first time to try a "Zoom storytelling scenario" instead of the classic "PowerPoint slide presentation". The four groups researched the theme of "Climate Change and Food" and created their own stories, which were presented via Zoom at the final presentation event day on 19th December.

The students travelled into space and back, into the future to talk with extinct animals, met an angel and a devil, who symbolised the two opposed voices in the human heart, and created a new restaurant menu of insect food just in case the climate change crisis means that meat is no longer available in the future.

Feedback from the participants showed that the program had been great fun. The task of performing a dramatic dialogue allowed the students to learn about each other's daily lives, food and prejudices, while telling jokes, sharing creative ideas and, in the end, making friends.

We look forward to doing it all again next time!
