Shinshu University enters into an Academic Exchange Agreement with the University of Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina

On June 26, 2015, Shinshu University entered into an academic exchange agreement with the University of Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina. The signing ceremony, which was held in the Rectorate of the University of Banja Luka, was attended by Rector Stanoko Stani?, Vice-Rector Valerija ?aula, Vice-Rector Milan Mataruga and Vice-Rector Dra?ko Marinkovi? of the University of Banja Luka; Kiyoshi Tanaka, Director of Shinshu University Global Education Center, and Specially-appointed Professor Katsumi Kaneko of Shinshu University; and ten other persons connected with both universities, including First Secretary of the Embassy of Japan in Bosnia and Herzegovina Kazumasa Miyazaki. The agreement was signed following a series of preliminary remarks from members of both universities.

The University of Banja Luka, established in 1975, is a comprehensive university consisting of 15 departments. It is the largest and oldest university in the Republika Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Utilizing the technologies and research achievements of both universities, It is hoped that the conclusion of this agreement will help promote further joint researches and education programs.
